If Tim and I didn't already inform you of our disappointment when we first arrived in our new home, you're hearing it now. The building is quite old and the walls are paper thin. The only thing stopping us from understanding our neighbour's conversation is that it's in Spanish.
A further indication is that when we arrived, a couple pieces of furniture that was provided by Babson was falling apart and our shower didn't work. We also have a balcony which we share with our neighbours and the wood on the bottom of the door which leads out has rotten and the metal underneath it has rusted over quite badly.
However, we did purchase a heap of stuff from the previous owner and all of this was in a storage room under the apartment block. So Tim and I set out to make our apartment feel somewhat livable.
Our kitchen - nothing special. The cupboards are all wood but are not sealed or varnished. The blackboard that the previous owners left us adds a little something something to the apartment. However, I suspect that they bought it to cover up the hole (see next photo) that used to be there and which looks like it was covered up in masking tape and then painted over.
This is our bedroom - once again, snaps to the previous owners for the curtains which they bought to give the room a more homely feel.
And finally the living dining area. This first picture is with is already partially set up with the desk. We later found the futon cover and cushions and tables which help make it home.
